Testing and Disability Services

  • Our office is open but we are conducting group tests on a modified schedule. We are conducting appointments via phone, Teams, email, etc. We can schedule face-to-face appointments for students who request it during our normal business hours.
  • You can reach us via phone at 706-737-1469 or via email at tds@augusta.edu.
  • Please be sure to monitor our website regarding test dates for PRAXIS, GACE, SAT, ACT, etc. and register early since numbers of registrants will be reduced.  We will continue to offer some tests via a remote format. If you have any questions, we will be glad to assist you.
  • Disability students should monitor SAM for announcements and can contact the office for any assistance needed for online classes.

  • Check out our Instagram for workouts, and our Facebook for future tournaments!
  • To get free workouts at home, download SugarWOD, set up a new account, select Augusta University Campus Recreation Center as your gym, and use access code “FitJags2020” to access the content. Let’s keep moving!
  • A great way to enjoy recreation and still have plenty of space for social distancing is spending time outside. Check out some locations near Augusta University: Savannah Rapids, Phinizy Swamp, and the state parks.
  • Stay connected with Augusta University's Gaming Club Discord Server! The club will host matches and tournaments across multiple platforms based off popular games such as League of Legends, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Overwatch, and many more!
  • Try free meditations provided by Headspace to help you relax and unwind. Also, you can visit The Mindful Movement channel on YouTube for combinations of physical and mental exercises. 
  • Consider picking up a new skill: cooking. Try some new and healthy meals you can make yourself while your favorite local spots are closed. You’ll find some great options at HealthNut Nutrition on YouTube.

  • Student Health is not currently taking walk-in patients; therefore, all students requesting services at the Student Health Clinic are requested to call first at 706-721-3448.
  • Psychiatrist visits continue using phone consultations by appointment only. Call 706-721-3448 to schedule an appointment.
  • All Student Health Clinic providers, including the psychiatrist, can refill your prescriptions via phone, as needed. Call 706-721-3448.
  • All students attending a public university in Georgia are eligible to use the following 24/7/365 telemedicine service: HealthiestYou by Teledoc. Students covered by the USG-endorsed student health insurance plan provided by United HealthCare Student Resources can access the resource for free; Those who are not covered pay $40.00. Student Counseling and Psychological Services

  • SCAPS offers telemental health appointments for routine treatment and emergencies. We ask that all students interested in counseling services to call SCAPS at 706-737-1471 to schedule a triage appointment.
  • Students who are experiencing an emergency, such as thoughts of hurting self or others, experience of trauma, loss and grief, or difficulties with taking care of basic needs such as food and shelter can call 706-737-1471 and ask to speak to a counselor on emergency duty. For after-hour emergencies, students and others who are concerned for a student should call the Georgia Crisis and Access Line at 1-800-715-4225.
  • United Healthcare Student Resources (UHCSR) is offering an Emotional-Support Help Line, through Optum, which provides access to specially trained mental health specialists. The help line number, 866-342-6892, will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for as long as necessary. The service is free of charge to all students.

International and Postdoctoral Services

  • The best way to reach International and Postdoctoral Services is by submitting an appointment request.
  • Whenever possible we will communicate with you via email or phone and use your Box folder for document exchange. Should original documents be required, we will arrange for you to either drop off or pick up the documents in our office at specific times.

Student Support and Advocacy

  • Visit the Jags Care website for a variety of support services. Students who are struggling with depression, or know others struggling with depression, can visit the site for mental health resources.
  • Some students may have difficulty transitioning from face-to-face to online instruction because of a lack of technological resources. Therefore, laptops are available for loan throughout the online learning period. Students may also complete the technological needs survey. (If students cannot access the form because they do not have a computer, tablet, or smartphone, they should call the Dean of Students’ Office: 706-737-1411.)
  • The Open Paws Food Pantry is still open on a call-in basis, as Bellevue Hall is closed. Call 706-737-1411 to coordinate a pickup time.
  • Students who are struggling financially are invited to visit the Student Emergency Fund for information and to apply.
  • Watch the message from the Dean of Students about all the ways to get support and stay connected during online instruction.
