Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) is a sixteen-hour NAEMT course providing training
using the current guidelines for battlefield casualty treatment and stabilization.
The course introduces evidence-based, life saving techniques and strategies for providing
trauma care in a hostile environment under the auspice of the PHTLS program. The Board
of Critical Care and Transport Certification recognizes the course as a preparatory
course for Tactical Paramedic Certification.
Upon completion of the course, students will receive a NAEMT certificate that attests
they have been trained in the following areas:
Capabilities and limitations.
Aid bag configuration.
Three phases of casualty care.
Care under fire.
Initial assessment.
Life threatening bleeding.
Tactical field care.
Triage.
Chest injuries.
Impalements.
Common fractures.
Burns.
CPR in a tactical environment.
Preventative medicine.
One, two and three-person carry.
Prerequisites:
High school or General Education Development diploma.
Valid state driver license
Proof of affiliation with a public safety agency.
Proof of current Emergency Medical Technician certification or above.
