Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC)
Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) is a sixteen-hour NAEMT course providing training
using the current guidelines for battlefield casualty treatment and stabilization.
The course introduces evidence-based, life saving techniques and strategies for providing
trauma care in a hostile environment under the auspice of the PHTLS program. The Board
of Critical Care and Transport Certification recognizes the course as a preparatory
course for Tactical Paramedic Certification.
Upon completion of the course, students will receive a NAEMT certificate that attests
they have been trained in the following areas:
- Capabilities and limitations.
- Aid bag configuration.
- Three phases of casualty care.
- Care under fire.
- Initial assessment.
- Life threatening bleeding.
- Tactical field care.
- Triage.
- Chest injuries.
- Impalements.
- Common fractures.
- Burns.
- CPR in a tactical environment.
- Preventative medicine.
- One, two and three-person carry.
Prerequisites:
- High school or General Education Development diploma.
- Valid state driver license
- Proof of affiliation with a public safety agency.
- Proof of current Emergency Medical Technician certification or above.
