STORM - Operator
STORM - Operator is a comprehensive sixteen-hour tactical medicine course for non-medical
tactical team members. The course provides a student with the skills to successfully
conduct self-aid/buddy-aid to a wounded operator and provide initial stabilization
of civilian casualties in the absence of credentialed medical providers.
Training includes lifesaving interventions, remote casualty assessment and extraction,
medical planning considerations, and force health sustainment measures.
Upon completion of the course, students will be competent to treat life-threatening
injuries they or other team members sustain during a tactical event, rapidly extract
casualties from a high threat environment, and implement medical measures to enhance
the likelihood of mission success for high risk operations. Students that successful
complete the course will receive a STORM Operator certificate.
