Mass Cytometry

Mass cytometry, or CyTOF (cytometry by time-of-flight), is a variation of flow cytometry in which antibodies are labeled with heavy metal ion tags rather than fluorochromes. The readout is performed using time-of-flight mass spectrometry, enabling the simultaneous detection of many more labels in a single sample, without significant channel spillover.

  • Simple mix and match of >50 markers
  • Single-cell suspension input
  • .fcs (FCS 3.0) and .txt data output
  • No autofluorescence; no single stained controls and signal compensation or deconvolution required after data collection
  • Sample multiplexing/barcoding
  • Samples and antibody cocktails are freezable
