What is a Living-Learning Community?

New AU freshmen with a high school GPA of 3.0 or better who are planning to live on campus their first year are encouraged to apply to the College of Science and Mathematics Living-Learning Community CMS LLC. This is specifically for students majoring in any of the following disciplines - biology, cell and molecular biology, chemistry, ecology, mathematics, physics. 

What are the Requirements to Join?

Students interested in joining the CMS LLC must enroll in an LLC-approved schedule of coursework that includes:

  • Cohorts in introductory science and mathematics courses appropriate to your major.
  • Other courses as approved by your academic advisor.
  • Maintaining regular participation in LLC activities.

AU Housing & Residence Life

Oak Hall and Elm Hall provide housing for first-year Augusta University students. Students living in either Hall have the opportunity to participate in the living learning community and special interest housing.

Tutoring Centers

The Academic Success Center (ASC) is on the Summerville campus and is home to a variety of free support services for students.

SciMath Tutoring Center is located on the Health Science campus and offers biological sciences, chemistry, math, physics, or statistics tutoring, as well as peer mentoring.

CURS

The Center for Undergraduate Research and Scholarship (CURS) supports faculty-led research and scholarly activity with undergraduates at Augusta University in a variety of ways.
