Non-degree seeking students are generally non-traditional students who are seeking to further their education, but are not seeking to complete a degree. These options are designed to accommodate a small number of students with very specific academic goals.

Please note that acceptance to Augusta University does not guarantee enrollment into specific classes. Please refer to our Course Catalog for course restrictions and pre-requisite requirements, and please see the university’s schedule of classes for availability of specific courses for upcoming terms. Many courses reach maximum capacity during early registration, prior to registration dates for certain non-degree student categories.

For courses that have pre-requisite requirements, the student has the responsibility to communicate directly with the academic department that offers the course in which they would like to enroll. The department may require that the student provide verification of pre-requisite course(s) completion to permit their registration in the course.

In addition, many courses require program-specific admissions and do not allow registration from post baccalaureate students without permission from program administration.

Post Bacc

A post-baccalaureate student is a student who has earned a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution who wishes to take undergraduate courses for credit.

Please note: applicants seeking to obtain an undergraduate degree should apply as an additional degree student. Post-baccalaureates needing to take graduate level courses must apply as post-baccalaureates and work with the specific program to gain access for the courses.

Requirements: After submission of an official application for admission, a post baccalaureate student must submit their official college transcript from the institution that granted their bachelor’s degree to Academic Admissions. Proof of degree is confirmed via receipt of the official transcript from the student’s previous degree-granting institution. Verification of Lawful Presence and other documentation as requested may be required by Academic Admissions.

Audit a Course

An auditor student attends classes as a non-credit, non-degree seeking student, and must be at least a high school graduate or the equivalent. Auditor students pay full tuition and fees for courses at Augusta University.

Requirements:

After submission of an official application for admission, applicants for audit status must show satisfactory completion of past academic work at the secondary or post-secondary level with official transcripts sent directly from the former institution to Academic Admissions. Verification of Lawful Presence and other documentation as requested may be required by Academic Admissions.
