Pediatric Kidney Transplant Program

Our transplant surgeons play a vital role in the only pediatric kidney transplant program in Georgia outside of Atlanta, giving more than 100 children with chronic kidney disease a new lease on life since the program was founded in 1969.

Our expert interdisciplinary team includes:

  • Transplant surgeons;
  • Pediatric/transplant nephrologists;
  • Pediatric urologists;
  • Pediatric anesthesiologists;
  • Pediatric intensive care specialists; and
  • A dedicated transplant support staff that includes skilled nurses, pharmacists, social workers and nutritionists.

Delivering care in a child-friendly, family-centered setting, our pediatric surgical team helps patients return to their normal lives as quickly as possible. With an excellent success rate as defined by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients, the Augusta University transplant program is dedicated to delivering the best possible results in a safe and nurturing environment.
