Our programs are accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences. The bachelor's and master's program are offered on-campus at our Augusta, GA campus and at our mobile laboratory in Lawrenceville, GA.
The MHS-CLS graduate program requires 74 graduate semester credit hours for graduation. The student must have a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, microbiology, or a related science field. The curriculum is 5 semesters long and culminates in a research or capstone project. This program also offers courses in evidenced-based practice, clinical services delivery, epidemiology, and education principles. An MHS-CLS degree prepares the student for practice in research, management, and education as well as practice as a clinical laboratory scientist.
This is an entry-level degree. Upon graduation, students are eligible to sit for the national MLS certification examination offered by the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC).
All application material must be submitted to Admissions no later than June 15 to be considered for our web-based program. For main campus applicants, a complete application must be on file in Admissions by June 15 (a complete application consists of your application, all transcripts, three references, an official transcript evaluation completed by AU admissions, and a GRE score).
Please note that it takes approximately five business days to process requests to send GRE scores. If you plan to send scores and the date at which your scores are no longer reportable is approaching, allow enough time for processing or your scores may not be sent.
Classes begin in Fall (August) semester only. Please visit the Clinical Laboratory Science Admissions Information page for the most current program information.

All undergraduate transfer students, regardless of major, with more than 60 hours
of transfer credit are exempt from this requirement.
