Start a New Sports Club

Any Augusta University student or East Georgia student is welcome to join, or start, a sports club.

If you are interested in starting a new sports club, you must first meet with the Club Sports Advisor. This step is to help students navigate the potential start up.

Become a recognized club

In order to be recognized by Campus Recreation as an official Augusta University Sports Club, your new club must:

  • Establish a bank account
  • Have at least four (4) members who are paying club dues. 
  • Have a copy of you Club Constitution and Bylaws, to be submitted to the Student Life & Engagement office.
  • Have a signed Club Sports Advisor Agreement

The club must also have appropriate representation. Mandatory officer positions for a new club are:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Treasurer
  • Safety Officer
  • *While the Secretary position is beneficial, we allow new clubs to appoint this position at a later date.

Volunteering & Coaching

Augusta University does not employ coaches for sports clubs. All coaches serve on a volunteer basis. 

Volunteer services, human resources, and campus recreation require a background check for all volunteers. If you would like to volunteer with a club sport in any capacity, please email us.
