The Office of Learner Well-being was established in 2020 to support the wellness of our learners in Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) and Graduate Medical Education (GME) at the Medical College of Georgia. If you are an MCG-AU medical student, resident, or fellow, then you are a learner.
We know that in order to provide optimal patient care our UME/GME learners/future healthcare providers need to feel supported. That's where we come in! We work closely with faculty and staff to ensure you have access to all available services in our support system.
If you're feeling burned out, stressed, or overwhelmed, it's important that you contact us. We also encourage you to do a self-evaluation using the Well-being Index; a 100% anonymous, web-based tool that assesses multiple dimensions of distress in just 9 questions, allowing you to:

The Office of Learner Well-being offers a number of wellness programs to medical students, residents, fellows, faculty, and staff. These services are designed to create an environment where all learners and healthcare providers can thrive, feel supported, and well-treated so they can provide optimal patient care.

Being healthy, happy, and satisfied with life contributes greatly to your well-being. With all the demands that come with training for, and being in, the medical profession, it's hard to find time for your own physical and mental health needs. Ask yourself how you're doing. Are you feeling out-of-sync in any aspect of your life? If the answer is yes, you need to start focusing on your own well-being.
Dimensions of Well-being
How you feel on the inside is just as important as how you feel on the outside.
Social interaction and doing things with others can keep you busy and engaged.
Connecting with your spiritual beliefs provides a sense of strength, purpose and community.
Being able to manage and save your money gives you a sense of financial security.
