Bio

Dr. McCollum trained at the Medical College of Georgia for both medical school and residency. He graduated from the Emergency Medicine residency in 2013, where he was awarded the Residency Educator Award for excellence in teaching. He has been the Assistant Program Director for the Department of Emergency Medicine since 2014. His clinical interests include Free Open Access Medical Education (FOAMed), metacognition, emergency department boarding, social media in medicine, and educational theory. He is active in the use of podcasting for medical education and has appeared on EM:RAP, the ED ECMO podcast, and the Skeptic’s Guide to Emergency Medicine podcast.
