Faculty members are available for consultation on problems such as hematuria, proteinuria, hypertension, glomerulonephritis, renal insufficiency, nephrotic syndrome, cystic kidney disease, nephrogenic diabetes insipidus, and renal stone disease. 24 hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring is offered to assist in the evaluation of hypertension.

Pediatric Nephrology also provides renal replacement therapy for children with acute renal failure. Modalities offered include inpatient hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and continuous veno-venous hemofiltration. Charcoal hemoperfusion is available for treatment of poisoning when indicated. Pediatric Nephrology also provides comprehensive care for children with end-stage renal failure. Services included in center hemodialysis, home peritoneal dialysis and renal transplantation.

We encourage continued research, learning and the opportunity to expose the next generation of doctors to the world of pediatric medicine. Students interested in exploring the pediatric Nephrology sub-specialty are encouraged to talk to our faculty about opportunities to work in our outpatient clinic.
