Sarah E. Hodge is a board-certified Otolaryngologist who completed an additional 2-year Neurotology/Otology fellowship at the House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles, California. She was born and raised in Texas though moved to the Midwest where she completed her undergraduate education at the University of Notre Dame and then attended medical school at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. She then moved to Chapel Hill, NC where she completed a 5-year residency training program in Otolaryngology at UNC. In addition to taking care of patients and various Otologic diseases including hearing loss, chronic ear disease, and both benign and malignant tumors of the ear, she enjoys research. Her research interests include histopathologic studies of human temporal bones of various middle and inner ear disorders, both adult and pediatric cochlear implant research, and the study of sudden sensorineural hearing loss. She has presented her research at various national meetings across the country and has authored many peer-reviewed articles on these subjects. She hopes to continue fostering this passion for years to come.
