The Department of Population Health Sciences at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University was established in 2017 to strengthen the public medical school’s impact on the health of Georgia.

The broader mission of the department is to understand, preserve and improve the health human populations through research, training and community engagement, especially focusing on the health of Georgians. It will enable scientists and educators to pursue and share a more comprehensive perspective on who are getting sick, what they have and why, and which targeted interventions and treatments are most effective for them.

We are currently accepting applications for the Master of Science (MS) program in data science, MS in Biostatistics, MS in Epidemiology, MS in CTS and Ph.D. program in Biostatistics for Fall 2024 enrollment. For the current admissions cycle, the GRE score is optional. The application deadline is February 1st. Please click here to apply.

The application deadline to receive consideration for full funding for the Ph.D. biostatistics program is also February 1st.

The biostatistics doctoral program is pleased to announce its participation in the Summer STAR (Student Training And Research) Program. The Summer STAR program is designed for undergraduate students who are interested in obtaining a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences, nursing, or biostatistics at Augusta University. Biostatisticians play a critical role in new research discoveries by developing methods for study designs and data analysis to advance scientific knowledge in biomedical, clinical and public health fields.
