Account security is very important to Augusta University – so we use Duo two-factor authentication for multiple systems. Learn more about Duo and register for your account.

Log in to your Augusta University email at email.augusta.edu. AU email is the university’s official form of communication, so expect updates regarding orientation, registration, billing, and course information in your AU inbox.

POUNCE is Augusta University’s student information portal. It includes information about registration, grades, financial aid, your student file, and more. Access POUNCE.

Don’t forget to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). By filing your FAFSA, you will be considered for need-based aid. Note Augusta University’s school code: 001579. For information about institutional scholarships, visit our Financial Aid website.

Please submit all immunization records demonstration proof of required immunization series initiation or prior immunity to Student Health Services, to include any COVID-19 vaccination information. For further instructions, and to download the required forms, visit Required Immunizations.

Augusta University is happy to accommodate students with disabilities. If you have a disability or require special services, please contact the Testing & Disability Services at 706-737-1469.

All students on AU’s campus must have health insurance, and will be charged a student health insurance premium each semester. However, if you already have insurance that meets the campus requirement, you may forgo the fee by completing a waiver. Email studentinsurance@augusta.edu or visit the Student Health Services website for more information.

You will soon receive a follow-up email with instructions on how to submit a photo for your JagCard. Please ensure your photo meets the following guidelines and direct any questions about your JagCard to jagaccess@augusta.edu. Photo guidelines include:

icon Do I have to attend orientation?
Yes! Orientation is mandatory and in-person. You will get to know your fellow classmates, the upper classmates and your professors during orientation. There is a great amount of information given during this time, and you will need this information to attend classes.
icon Where can I find the most current information about orientation?
Please watch your AU email and check back on the MCG Orientation web page regularly for updates as orientation approaches.
icon What should I expect of orientation?
Orientation will be two days of general AU and MCG related-activities followed immediately by teh three day "Orientation to Medicine" course. Please watch your AU email and check back on the orientation web page for further details as orientation approaches.
icon What is the attire for orientation?
Business casual is suitable.
icon Where do I go for orientation?
Your orientation will be held in the J. Harold Harrison Building Room 1210B. This will be your classroom for the year.
icon Do I need to bring my lunch/snacks during orientation?
Please watch your AU email and check back on the orientation web page for the daily schedule and further details about when food will be provided as orientation approaches.
icon When will I receive my parking pass?
Your parking pass will be virtual by way of your license plate.
icon When is the White Coat Ceremony?
Your White Coat Ceremony will be Saturday, October 22, 2022.
icon Do I need to purchase any “doctoring equipment” like a white coat, stethoscope, etc.?
Your white coat will be provided for you. You will be provided with a list of other requirements from the Curriculum Office.
icon Is a computer required for orientation?
The Medical College of Georgia requires that you have a laptop/iPad computer. Many students purchase a computer for their personal use prior to matriculation. The general guidelines and recommendations are included here: PC/Mac Minimum Hardware Specifications. We ask that all students bring their computers each day of orientation.
icon Do I need to register for classes?
No. Our Curriculum Office will register you for your classes.
