The Master of Education with a Major in Leadership in the College of Education offers students a curriculum that addresses being a leader in a P-12 educational setting. The School Administration concentration leads to initial Tier I Educational Leadership certification in Georgia. The program prepares educators to assume positions such as lead teacher, assistant principal, or central office staff.
Applicants for leadership programs must meet the requirements for admission to the respective programs. Requirements for admission are located on the Graduate Admissions website.
Applicants who hold a Master’s degree or higher and a standard professional certificate may complete the non-degree, certification-only program to add either initial Tier I Educational Leadership certification or Teacher Leadership certification respectively to their current Georgia Educator credentials. Courses in the program of study are scheduled in 8-week terms and offered online to provide students the opportunity to complete the programs in a timely fashion.
"Mirror, mirror on the wall! There is a great leader in us all! Be the leader that people want to follow, not because of your title, but because you empower others."
"I chose this program because I wanted to use my skills and knowledge in a more administrative way. Leaders with a special education background are hard to find. I have a special education background that I feel would benefit an admin team in a positive way.”
