Professor & Chair,
Department of Pediatrics
Pediatrician-in-Chief, Children’s Hospital Of Georgia

Our faculty, who practice at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, includes allergists/immunologists, rheumatologists, cardiologists, critical care physicians, endocrinologists, gastroenterologists, hematologists/oncologists, neonatologists, nephrologists and pulmonologists. Our newest division, Pediatric Hospitalist Medicine, is devoted to the unique challenges faced by hospitalized children.

One of the largest departments at the Medical College of Georgia, the Department of Pediatrics is comprised of 12 divisions with full and part-time faculty, pediatric residents, subspecialty and research fellows, and numerous postdoctoral fellows. Our faculty provide outstanding primary care in general pediatrics and our subspecialists are highly trained to treat children with complex medical conditions.

We are dedicated to training the next generation of pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists. Our department is frequently honored for outstanding teaching and we pride ourselves for the close mentoring relationships between the faculty, residents and students. This is often reflected in the high number of graduating medical students who choose to pursue a career in pediatrics. Another point of pride is our robust research program dedicated to creating new child health knowledge and the inclusion of medical students through our Children’s Summer Scholars Program.

Our hospital has consistently ranked in the top 10% nationally in measures of quality of care and we were one of the leading hospitals in the development of programs for Patient and Family Centered Care. While the origins of our Children’s Hospital date back to 1912, our current facility is modern and spacious. It was designed with input from the children and families we serve. Additionally, Ronald McDonald House is located just outside our doors making it much easier for families to be near their children.
